Dr. Nicole Rousseau joins David & Shane on Redneck Gone Green
In this episode of Redneck Gone Green, David & Shane welcomes Dr. Nicole Rousseau, a sociologist who earned her master’s degree from Loyola University and her doctorate from Howard University. She researches and writes about the structural and institutional roots of race, class, and gender. She is the author Black Woman’s Burden: Commodifying Black Reproduction, which examines the historical endeavors to regulate Black female sexuality and reproduction in the United States through methods of exploitation, control, repression, and coercion.
Redneck Gone Green is a Resistance Podcast featuring host David Cobb and co-host Shane Knight, who share their personal journeys from culturally conservative backgrounds into a search for authentic community empowerment and democratic ideals. The show serves as a platform to challenge top-down political narratives and to amplify the voices of those creating bottom-up solutions. Through interviews and discussion, the podcast delves into the critical work of building economic democracy, advocating for peace and justice, and actively resisting the twin threats of ecological collapse and fascism.
